經文：「你父親使我們負重軛，做苦工，現在求你使我們做的苦工、負的重軛輕鬆些，我們就事奉你。」（王上12:4）

說明：
這是耶羅波安代表以色列會眾向剛即位的羅波安王所說的話，將先王所羅門晚年加諸在百姓身上重軛的苦況告訴王，要求減輕苦工。他們用和平及謙卑的方式，與王對話，態度仍是想事奉王。羅波安王聆聽了，可惜聽不進去，因他不了解事態嚴重。

禱告重點：
1.達至社會平安，先要彼此聆聽，就是要聽得進對方的話，了解雙方的看法，不了解會造成誤判。香港表達聲音的渠道多得很，政府和民間亦曾有對談會。請為雙方聽得進對方的話代禱。
2.百姓要求的不是免除重軛和苦工，而是「輕鬆些」，即減輕一點。羅波安可能聽漏了或想多了，完全收不到會眾的訴求。請為香港官民之間的對話，在聆聽時清除「聽漏了或想多了」的障礙代禱。

12/1（Sun）：Listen to each other
Verse: “Thy father made our yoke grievous: now therefore make thou the grievous service of thy father, and his heavy yoke which he put upon us, lighter, and we will serve thee.”（1 King 12:4）

Explanation：
Jeroboam representing the assembly of Israel came to talk to King Rehoboam who just acceded to throne, reflecting the burden and hardship loaded by the late King Solomon, pleading for alleviation. They pleaded to the king with peace and humbleness. However, Rehoboam did not listen well and later rejected as he didn’t know how serious the situation was.

Prayer Note ：
1.To achieve social safety, we must first listen to each other, that is, to understand the views of both sides, because misunderstanding will cause misjudgment. There are many channels for Hong Kong to express their voices, and there have been talks between the government and the people. Pray for both parties to listen to each other with heart.
2.The people of Israel were not asking for relief from heavy duties, but for relaxing in certain extent. Rehoboam might have missed or thought too much, so he failed to receive the demands of the assembly at all. Please pray that at any dialogue between the government and the people of Hong Kong, there will be no obstacle of missing something in listening and over thinking.
