12/4（星期三）：彌合矛盾
經文：「於是以色列的長老都來到希伯崙見大衛王，大衛在希伯崙耶和華面前與他們立約，他們就膏大衛作以色列的王。」（撒下5:3）「以色列眾民見王不依從他們，就對王說：我們與大衛有什麼分兒呢？與耶西的兒子並沒有關涉。以色列人哪，各回各家去吧！大衛家啊，自己顧自己吧！於是，以色列人都回自己家裡去了，」（王上12:16）
說明：
大衛本來在希伯崙作猶大王，後來經由立約作全以色列的王。如今到第三代羅波安作王，由於漠視民意，導致官逼民反，十個支派便獨立出來。
禱告重點：
1. 大衛經由立約作全以色列的王，若世世代代守約，國家便可維持統一。因此香港社會要彌合矛盾，請為有關方面守約代禱。
2. 以色列人說：「我們與大衛有什麼分兒呢？與耶西的兒子並沒有關涉」，這代表身分認同危機。神的原意是要以色列統一，分裂與獨立是人違約的惡果。香港也有身分認同危機，若要彌合矛盾，請為香港人的身分認同危機得到解決代禱。

12/4(Wed): Resolving Conflicts
Scripture: “So all the elders of Israel came to the king to Hebron; and king David made a league with them in Hebron before the LORD: and they anointed David king over Israel.” (2 Samuel 5:3) “ So when all Israel saw that the king hearkened not unto them, the people answered the king, saying, What portion have we in David? neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse: to your tents, O Israel: now see to thine own house, David. So Israel departed unto their tents.” (1 Kings 12:16)

Explanation:
David was the king of Judah in Hebron, and later by a treaty he became the king of all Israel. Now in the reign of Rehoboam, the grandson of David, he ignored the will of people, and ten tribes were forced to go against him by declaring independence.

Prayer Note:
1. David became king of all Israel by a treaty. If his descendants comply with the treaty, the nation will remain united. Similarly, the conflicts in Hong Kong need to be resolved. Please pray for real compliance by all parties.
2. The people of Israel said, “What portion have we in David? Neither have we inheritance in the son of Jesse.” This reflects an identity crisis. God’s original plan was a united Israel. Separation and independence are the nasty fruits of breaking the treaty. Hong Kong has an identity crisis too. For the conflicts to be resolved, please pray for a resolution of the identity crisis of the Hongkongers.
